Photo shoot Plan
Planning the shoots
I will be taking my photographs in the studio, this will make the models stand out as there are no distractions in the background. I will also be using the studio lighting.
My models in my pictures will be giving direct eye contact, some facial expressions will be serious where as some will be fun and mucking around showing their personalities. I will be taking single shots are group shots. They will also take a range of long, mid and close shots.
I will be using two male models. They will be wearing indie styled, casual clothing. The models hair will be straight and sweeping as that is very fashionable for boys at the moment and stereotypical for ‘indie’ boys.

Naming the magazine
I have decided to call the name of my magazine Rhythm. I think it is a good name for the magazine as its a music magazine.
Using www.dafont com I experimented with putting the name of my magazine 'Rhythm' into different fonts.
The font I have decided to use is called Birth of a Hero. I have chosen this font because I think the look will go well with my magazine as its quite edgy.

Questionnaire
media Questionnaire
I created a questionnaire for the general public in word. I made it so I would get more of an understanding of what the public are looking for in a magazine and make sure mind can be more appealing as possible.
From the results answers by 20people, I know that the almost everyone buys a music magazine, and the majority by one weekly.
The most popular choice of music genre was Indie, followed by rock. I think this type of music appeals to more music readers whereas R&B didn’t get many votes. I personally think that Indie music is more appealing to a wider variety of people as the music is more likely to be on the radio along with Pop music.
Overall more people would like to pay between £1.50 and £2.00 for a music magazine. I also research into existing magazine prices and saw that NME was £2.30 followed by Kerrang! This costs £2.20. After doing my research and seeing what the public would pay for a magazine I am going to price my magazine as £2.10.
The main attraction for a magazine is a popular artist on the cover. When making my magazine I will keep this in mind and make sure my main image is really appealing at takes up the majority of the cover. I will also do my double page spread featuring the cover artist therefore making the reader want to buy it to find out more about their famous artist.

Genre/Target Audience
Genre
The genre of music I have decided to choose for my magazine is indie. I have decided to chose this genre of music because I personally like the music and I think this type of music appeals to a wide variety of people. I also have knowledge about this type of music and enjoy listening to it, I think this will help me to be able to produce a good magazine which will appeal to a range of people.
Target Audience
My magazine is going to be aimed at 14-19 year olds. It will be for male and female readers. I think this is best decision for my magazine as the genre of music i have chosen appeals to this age range and both genders.

Mind Map
With an open mind I did a mind map of ideas for my magazine. I thought of different genres of music, target audiences, photo shoots and existing magazines that I can analyse.
Time Plan
To create this time plan chart I used www.tomsplanner.com . I created this to help me keep track of what I need to be doing. I can also see how long i need to be spending on each task, so I don't spend too long or too little on a task, only what's needed. It also organizes my time keeping to be able to complete deadlines on time.

Preliminary Cover and Contents
For my Preliminary task I did a cover and a contents page for a school magazine using Photoshop. Using Photoshop my knowledge in Photoshop has increased and I have gained confidence in doing this.
The contents page is purposely incomplete, but from the layout you can see where I would put things properly for the magazine.
